Steveston

Beautiful sunny Steveston!  Located at the Southwest corner of Richmond, BC, where the South arm of the Fraser River meets the Strait of Georgia.

Steveston is a picturesque destination waterfront village.  Steveston once was a Japanese fishing village but since the Cannery closed and is now a national heritage site, the waterfront has evolved into a combination of new condominiums, shops, walkways and wharfs, historic museums, and fishing boats.  To live in Steveston feels like a being on a vacation everyday.

Many young families from Vancouver have discovered Steveston and moved here in recent years and are thrilled to discover how wonderful and close the amenities are.  Steveston Community Park is over 30 acres with huge green space, kids playground and waterpark, Community Centre, Japanese Cultural Centre, Martial Arts Centre, public library, outdoor swimming pool, community RCMP station, batting cage for baseball/softball, tennis courts, lacrosse boxes, basketball courts and more.  Then there is Garry Point Park, Imperial Landing, Britannia Heritage Shipyard, London Landing, public fishing piers, dyke trails and more.

Schools, shopping, and amenities are close. The VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (YVR) is a 10 minute drive away, the BC FERRY TERMINALS are 20 minutes, the USA border is 30 minutes.  The commute to downtown Vancouver is also a quick and pleasant commute heading North taking 20-30 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Steveston is part of the CITY OF RICHMOND, a very well-run City.   The Olympic Oval is located 10 minutes from Steveston.  The CANADA LINE connects Richmond to the lower mainland as never before.

The community spirit is alive and well here with many volunteers and community groups including Steveston Merchants Association, Steveston Community Society, Steveston Rotary, non-profit groups, and more.  Home to the hugely successful Salmon Festival on July 1st, Christmas in Steveston Village in December, Halloween Trick or Treating in October, Easter Egg Hunt, Steveston Scarecrow Crawl and Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market.
